Ground Sterilant / Vegetation Control

In certain limited situations, there are products available to eliminate vegetation growth.  Call the office for details.

Aeration / Dethatching

It's important to regularly Dethatch and Aerate your lawn to keep it healthy and growing.  Aeration is the single most important thing you can do for your lawn.  If the ground is compacted and there is too much thatch, the water and fertilizer is not getting to the root system where it is needed, therefore money is being wasted.  Dethatching yields the best results in combination with a Core Aeration, so we offer a special combination package.  Dethatching is best done in the Fall, but can be done at other times of the year.  You should not dethatch in the Spring after a Pre-emergent Application or when the ground is wet or very hot and dry.

Overseeding
Overseeding your lawn is a way to ensure that you are constantly keeping your lawn fresh and new.

Overseeding can be done at any time of the year, but the following considerations should be taken before you overseed.

  • Overseeding should never be done within 4-6 weeks of applying any type of weed control or pre-emergent fertilizer
  • Overseeding works very well after an Aeration / Dethatch as the ground has been well prepped to accept the seed
  • Overseed can be done in the Spring, Fall and Summer, provided you have cool temperatures and water (natural or from a watering system)
  • All grass seed has weed seed, check the label for the percentages
  • The cheaper the seed, generally the higher percentage of weed seed
